4 Day Birdwatcher’s Paradise
Focus: Birding and nature
Cruise Option: Morning Cruise (9:00 AM – 11:00 AM).
Day 1:
- Morning: Depart Entebbe for Mabamba Swamp (~1-hour drive). Canoe trip to spot the shoebill stork.
- Afternoon: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park (~6 hours). Lunch en route.
- Evening: Arrive at lodge, dinner, and birding briefing.
Day 2:
- Morning: Kazinga Channel Morning Cruise (9:00 AM – 11:00 AM) to see African fish eagles, kingfishers, and herons. Followed by birding in Kasenyi plains (look for bustards and larks).
- Afternoon: Lunch at lodge. Guided birding walk in Maramagambo Forest (search for black-and-white colobus monkeys too).
- Evening: Dinner and bird checklist review with guide.
Day 3:
- Morning: Birding in Kyambura Gorge (look for turacos and barbets).
- Afternoon: Lunch and visit a wetland near Lake George for more bird species.
- Evening: Dinner at lodge.
Day 4:
- Morning/Afternoon: Drive back to Entebbe with a stop at Lake Mburo for grassland bird species.
